Coach,
We are in the process of putting together our 8th annual Lineman’s Challenge. Since the skill kids always have 7on 7, it’s time we kept our most important people happy—The Hogs. In recent years we have (and possibly you have too) participated in other lineman’s challenges and we will participate in those again this year. In my opinion it is one of the best things to keep your linemen interested in the summer, it’s fun, and it gets them away from the food trough long enough to keep them from getting too fat.
The competition will be held at Plainfield Central High School in downtown Plainfield. And will include the following events:
1. 5 man sled push
2. Bench Press (185# for Var./ 150# for Frosh/Soph)
3. 40 yard dash
4. Wheelbarrow relay (Loaded wheelbarrow)
5. Obstacle Course agility run
6. Tug of war
7. Tire throw
Competition is for LINEMEN ONLY (That is DL and OL ONLY)! Remember, in your practices, while the skill guys are playing catch (7 on 7) the big boys are beating the tar out of each other. This one’s for them and so they can have a little fun (Okay you can bring a linebacker if you want).
The Challenge will be on Wed. July 9, 2008, at 3:00pm. Hope to see you there.
